Master of Social Work (MSW)

MSW programme is envisaged to mould socially committed and professionally competent young social workers to contribute towards the social development of the country. Social work programme through the education of social values, principles and methods empowers students to adopt strategies and interventions to bring changes in the life of people. This programme fosters knowledge, skills and attitude of learners for delivering human services through widening the horizons of perspectives with a global standard. The curriculum of the programme offers a splendid blending of theoretical knowledge, field practicum, research, conferences and seminars. To develop committed, competent, and confident manpower through theoretical application in the field practice for the enhancement of human well-being. The course methods of Social Work underlines for improving human standards of living by creating awareness among them on their capabilities and resources and helping them in solving the problems faced in their day-to-day life. The course aims at imparting practical training in various fields of Social Work. People who obtain postgraduation in Social Work can have many opportunities in different social settings.

MSc Psychology

The course will highlight the most interesting experiments within the field of psychology, discussing the implications of those studies for our understanding of the human mind and human behavior. We will explore the brain and some of the cognitive abilities it supports like memory, learning, attention, perception and consciousness. We will examine human development – both in terms of growing up and growing old – and will discuss the manner in which the behavior of others affects our own thoughts and behavior. Finally we will discuss various forms of mental illness and the treatments that are used to help those who suffer from them. The fact of the matter is that humans routinely do amazing things without appreciating how interesting they are. However, we are also routinely influenced by people and events without always being aware of those influences. By the end of this course you will have gained a much better understanding and appreciation of who you are and how you work. Psychology graduates can also use the general skills and knowledge they have acquired to pursue a career in a variety of workplaces. Degrees in Psychology typically cover human services and behavior.

MSc Artificial Intelligence

Labour India College offers a two year M. Sc Artificial Intelligence (AI) degree programme with the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, with an intake capacity of 12 students. The course is designed to familiarize with the science and engineering of making computers capable to perform tasks which normally require human intelligence. It is a branch of Computer Science that aims to develop intelligent computer machines. This course is designed to create skilled professionals who can cater to the needs of government, industry and scientific organizations in the Computer Science and machine intelligence related areas. Apart from the curriculum, we provide an environment for students to gain expertise in theoretical foundations of computer applications with an emphasis on strong practical training that will enable students to develop real-world applications.
